Ummm Seriously!?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2009-03-31-bar-stool-dui_N.htm

hahahahaha I just CANNOT help but blog about this one...SOO FUNNY. Please take the time to read the link. This guy got a DUI for drinking and driving his BAR STOOL. Apparently it can go up to 38MPH? Impressive! I love that USAToday posted this little story, very entertaining and such a balance to all the down and out stuff about the economy.

Do yall like reading little retarded but entertaining stories like this...or is it pointless to even cover?

  1. umm.. you failed to mention it was motorized hahaha. I was a little confused for a second, but wow, people are weird. The little blurb was pretty entertaining, and yes, I do like to read these stories sometimes. The write-up doesn't take much time for a writer to do because of how little it is, and the few details are pretty self-explanatory. This is definitely water cooler material, or in our cases, blog material! It's quick and quirky things that really balance out a news outlet.

  2. I like stories like this too. It's not hard to give the deats and is short and sweet. Stories like this remind me oh "little known facts" or silly rules that each state has like, "In Miami, it's illegal for men to be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown" or "Idaho state law makes it illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing less than fifty pounds."

  3. This story was great. It is really helpful to get a break from the heavy, depressing news that we so often hear about. Plus it's hilarious and I want to meet this man.

  4. I think it's great that articles are writting about this kind of ridiculous stuff. Next thing you know someone will be charged with a DUI for rollerblading, or skate boarding. Sometimes the world we live in is just funny. And I think that's what people need sometimes. People just need a little funny in their news so that it's not just all boring stories about war and financial crises. People need entertainment to escape from all that war and debt. And stories like this provide just the escape!

  5. Have you ever heard of people being charged with DUI's for riding their bicycles drunk? I heard about it on the radio last year - turns out you can pretty much be "pulled over" for a DUI no matter what you're "driving". By the way - I worked at a Car Museum after college and "racing barstools" (and also racing lawnmowers) are more popular than you might imagine!!!

I definitely agree though that even though this story is a little ridiculous and drunk driving is no joke whatsoever; sometimes people need a laugh in their day and a break from the morbid and stressful news that seems to take over - especially in today's world.
